Have You Ever Seen This?
January 31, 2006 by igme
In the dawn of January 30 (around 5:30), I was standing at our back terrace about to prepare to sleep. During the day, from our terrace one can see the expanse of Marikina-Rizal geography where houses and trees line and a beautiful row of a mountain make for a perfect scene; at night, spots of lights from the houses and light posts glitter the horizon. This is my favorite spot in our house, the place where I want to be alone for awhile. Anyway, as I looked up the skies at this particular time, there were still clumps of stars in my company. I thought this a period where the sun’s rays usually come late in the morning and it’s already too dusky late in the afternoon. After a couple of minutes of pondering, what did i find?!! A "light" swept the horizon very quickly, it passed my eyes just a second and a half. And what was that?! That’s a SHOOTING STAR!! In my twenty six years of my life, never had I seen a "falling star" (okay, a meteor) until that time. I was so shocked I almost forgot I should wish when this phenomenon occurs. After a few sec and being the hopelessly hopeful that I am, I wished for something. I’m afraid I won’t tell it to you.
I’m still estatic while writing this. If this is a sign that things are looking up for me, then I should be hopeful and not get annoyed and impatient too easily as I wont to do these days. Patience is a virtue, as they say.
I’m hoping for the next falling star in my midst, or better yet, a meteor shower!!
(Note: I’ve seen meteor showers in one of my scariest and weirdest dreams, now that’s a differnt story altogether.)
ni de va falling ‘ang falling star”? baka jumoin ang star mo… charos
