“Two” Birthdays!
November 21, 2006 by igme
I did celebrate my birthday on two dates, a day earlier and my real birth date (which was yesterday, the 21st of Tuesday). For those in the-know about astrology, there’s an "astrological birthday" — a birthday on the day on which "the Sun in the sky is exactly at the same zodiac degree as the Sun" in one’s birth chart. It says it does not necessarily happen on the same date every year.
I had the most low-key birthday celebration yesterday, spending it in my house since Monday. This year didnt become the usual tiresome chore that I used to bring for my friends, though it’s always a pleasure (did I just say pressure?) to treat your friends during this time of year. Frankly, my birthday is my only reason to treat them on my end, hehe. Seriously speaking, I kinda liked that it’s different. I wouldnt even mind my problem if there’s enough space to fill the house with my growing sets of friends.
And for my friends who either forgot or didnt care to greet, I don’t want to beat you into it. That’s okay. We forget sometimes.
I missed someone so much that a growing saline was brewing in my eye ducts when I received a letter of hers — my beloved sister in New York. She told me this — "I feel like we are in the same boat; the only difference is that we are miles apart and our careers are different." I’ve felt vulnerable and alone in the past weeks, but somehow I felt relieved when I heard this. Someone very far is praying for me, would make one’s way to sharing my burden. After that brief exchange of e-mails, we missed each other in a heartbeat. I am dying to see her official graduation march in Columbia U. next year. That’d be a treat!
